SADAQAH
One of the doors that Allah (swt) has opened to everyone to gain big rewards in the month of Ramadan is through Sadaqa (giving charity/alms). Islam always advises its followers to give plenty of charities, especially during the month Ramadan. And that is supposed to be the manner of believers; generosity. Allah and His messenger ordered, even gave example to the followers of Islam to be generous and open-handed people.
“The Upper hand is better than the lower hand. The upper hand is the hand of a giver, and the lower hand is the hand of a beggar” (Narrated by Bukhari in hadith No. 1429 and in Muslim in hadith No. 1033)
A pious person may also give as much as he/she pleases as Sadaqa, and does so preferably in secret. Although this word can be translated as ‘voluntary charity’ it has a wider meaning. The Prophet said ‘even meeting your brother with a cheerful face is a charity.’
For your Sadaqah contribution, you can donate to the Australian Hidayah Foundation. We’re committed to distribute your donations to transform the lives of the poorest people in the world. They ask you (O Muhammad) what they should spend in charity. Say: ‘Whatever you spend with a good heart, give it to parents, relatives, orphans, the helpless, and travellers in need. Whatever good you do, God is aware of it’ — Al- Qur’an, 2:215
